In the western United States, a dry climate is a way of life. But when a summer storm mixes with the dry terrain, wildfires are the result. These fast-moving fires do more than damage the environment; they often threaten homes and lives.
That's why Rural/Metro provides some of the most skilled, highly trained personnel and state-of-the-art equipment in its constant fight against wildland fires.
Our employees are trained for a variety of situations and work on contract with a number of government, state and local agencies. For example:
- Rural/Metro firefighters have helped contain dozens of fires in Idaho, Wyoming, California, Oregon and Arizona.
- In Idaho and Oregon, our work on forest fires has helped save valuable environmental and logging resources from the destruction of a major fire.
- Our crews in Arizona have fought some of the largest fires in the state's history.
