Michael DiMino was appointed President, Chief Executive Officer, and Board Member in June 2010. Prior to joining Rural/Metro, Mr. DiMino was a resident executive with Morgenthaler Partners, a leading middle-market private equity firm. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Affinity Specialty Apparel. Prior to Morgenthaler Partners, from 2006 to 2008 Mr. DiMino was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Ohio-based Education Enrichment Resources, Inc., a private company distributing supplemental curriculum education products to K-12 schools nationwide. From 2001 to 2005, Mr. DiMino was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of LESCO, Inc., a $585 million public company that was the nation's largest distributor of leading landscape and lawn care products to lawn care professionals (now an operating company of John Deere). Mr. DiMino began his career as Vice President of Sales for United Health Care Company from 1985 to 1988 and as Sales and Marketing Manager for American Hospital Supply Company from 1980 to 1985.
Jorge A. Perez joined Rural/Metro in December 2011 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Perez directs all financial matters of the company, including capital structure, cash management, taxes, general accounting, operations and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Rural/Metro, Mr. Perez was Enterprise CFO for Holiday Retirement, a privately held company and the nation's largest owner of independent senior living facilities with 313 communities throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Perez spent eight years at Marriott International Inc., a leading lodging company with more than 3,400 properties in 68 countries. At Marriott, he served as Senior Vice President of Finance for North American Lodging operations, and prior to that was Chief Financial Officer & Regional Vice President of Finance for the company's Central Region North American Lodging Operations. Mr. Perez spent 12 years at Schering-Plough, where he was Chief Financial Officer for the Over the Counter/Direct to Consumer Division of Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals. Immediately prior to that, he served as Director of Finance for Schering-Plough's largest international subsidiary in Osaka, Japan and was Director of Finance and Operations for Schering-Plough Del Caribe in Puerto Rico.
Mr. Kevane was promoted to Senior Vice President and General Counsel in March 2010. Previously, he served as Managing Director and General Counsel since 2006. Prior to joining the Company in 2004, Mr. Kevane was an attorney with the international law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P., where his practice focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation, including public and private securities offerings, as well as counseling clients on corporate governance. Mr. Kevane holds a Juris Doctor degree from Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business.
Mr. Perry was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Office in June 2010. Prior to that, he served as Chief Information Officer since 2007. From 2005-2007 Mr. Perry served as Vice President/Chief Information Officer for Giant Industries, a Petroleum Refining and Marketing organization. Prior to that, Mr. Perry served as Vice President/Chief Information Officer for Three-Five Systems a High Technology Display Manufacturer from 2000-2005. From 1985-2000, Mr. Perry held various Information Technology positions within the CalComp/Lockheed and Lockheed Martin Aerospace and Defense organization. Mr. Perry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Colorado Christian University and a Masters, Information Technology degree from American Intercontinental University.
Dave Lindberg joined Rural/Metro in 2010 and has more than 30 years of international experience in the medical transportation and healthcare industries. Mr. Lindberg comes to Rural/Metro after serving as the Director of North American Operations for The Optima Corporation. Optima is a world-leading operations research firm based in Auckland, New Zealand. Prior to Optima, Mr. Lindberg was Chief Executive Officer and founder of HealthAnalytics, a leading international healthcare consulting and information management firm based in the U.S. He currently leads Rural/Metro's business development and process improvement efforts related to overall operational performance. Mr. Lindberg began in the EMS industry in the late 1970s as a field paramedic and has held a number of diverse responsibilities in operations, communications, clinical education & research and human resources. He also has extensive experience in physician practice management in the areas of emergency medicine and physician house call practices.
Maureen Thompson joined Rural/Metro in July 2010 as Vice President of Human Resources to lead strategic and corporate human resources throughout the enterprise. Ms. Thompson has a demonstrated track record of working with large consumer product and retail organizations, including Retail HR Strategic Business Partner for The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, the world's largest tire company with annual sales of $18 billion, from 2006 to 2009. From 2002 to 2006, she was Vice President of Human Resources for LESCO Inc., a $585 million public company that was the nation's largest distributor of landscape and lawn care products (now an operating company of John Deere). Prior to that, Ms. Thompson was Vice President of Human Resources for Alamo Local Market Division, a division of ANC Retail Corporation, from 2000 to 2002.
Bob Fisher joined Rural/Metro Corporation in 2010 as Vice President of Supply Chain to lead the Company's national supply chain program. Mr. Fisher's career includes 25 years' experience in managing supply chains, acquisitions and finance, with industry experience that spans computer manufacturing and sales, turf products, ocean shipping and EMS. Prior to joining Rural/Metro, Mr. Fisher was Acquisitions and Business Development Manager for Tropical Shipping in Riviera Beach, FL from 2008-2010. He worked at LESCO, Inc., in Cleveland, OH from 2001 through 2008 as VP Supply Chain & Customer Service and Director of Finance. Mr. Fisher holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Baldwin-Wallace College.
Steve Blackburn has served as Vice President of Rural/Metro's East operating zone since 2010. Prior to his promotion, Mr. Blackburn was Division General Manager for the Company's Kentucky EMS operations. He has combined experience of 34 years in the EMS industry, beginning in 1976. His management experience includes service as Vice President of American Ambulance Service. He joined Rural/Metro in 1995 as Area Marketing Manager in Central Ohio and was promoted to Division General Manager of those operations in 1996. Mr. Blackburn was promoted to Director of Business Development for the Central-South region in 1998 and Division General Manager over Kentucky operations in 2008. He holds his Masters of Business Administration from Franklin University and Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Education from Ohio State University.
Bob Jewell was appointed Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management in January 2012, having served as National Billing Director prior to his promotion. He directs all ambulance billing and related services through the national organization. During Mr. Jewell's career with Rural/Metro he has also served as Billing Director for the Company's South and Southwest Zones. From 2005 to 2008, he served as Billing Director for the South Zone and directed the consolidation of four local billing centers into one large regional billing center. Mr. Jewell joined Rural/Metro in 1996 as Assistant General Manager through the acquisition of Myers Ambulance Service in Indiana. He has combined experience of 28 years in the EMS industry, including service as an EMT and a Paramedic.
Phil Forgione has served as Vice President of the Company's West Zone since 2010. Prior to his promotion, Mr. Forgione served as Division General Manager for Rural/Metro and Chief Executive Officer for San Diego Medical Services Enterprise (SDMSE) from October 2004 through 2010 and as General Manager for Rural/Metro and Chief Operating Officer for SDMSE from January 1999 through September 2004. Mr. Forgione began his career in the Emergency Medical Services industry as Marketing Manager for Eastern Ambulance in Syracuse New York in 1991 and was promoted in 1994 to Director of Public Affairs for the Eastern U.S. He became national Director of Public Affairs for Rural/Metro Corporation in January 1998. Mr. Forgione holds his MBA from Arizona State University and dual Bachelor's Degrees in Business and Journalism from Syracuse University.
John Karolzak has served as Vice President of Rural/Metro's South operating zone since 2010 and was appointed Acting Vice President of the Company's Southwest operating zone in May 2011. Mr. Karolzak began his career in emergency services more than 25 years ago as a firefighter with Rural/Metro Fire Department in Pima County, Arizona, rising through the ranks to Administrative Fire Chief. In 1992, he was named Market General Manager/EMS Chief for the Company's EMS operations in Southern Arizona. In 1998, he was promoted to Division General Manager for the state of Indiana, and in 2002 was assigned operating divisions in Kentucky and Parts of Ohio. In 2009, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the South Zone. Mr. Karolzak holds a Master's of Business Administration and Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Adin Bradley was promoted to East Zone Vice President in October 2011 and oversees all East Zone operations, where he develops annual operating plans for the Zone, drive growth and increased market share, work closely with Zone Human Resources professionals to ensure full employment throughout the Zone, and focuses on compliance and risk management initiatives. Bradley was named Division General Manager for the Western New York in September 2008, leading all EMS service divisions, including the Communications Center and all Field Operations, as well as all business departments, including Finance, Human Resources, Education, Scheduling, Fleet, and General Administration. Prior to that position, he was Market General Manager for Western New York, with responsibility over all business departments. He joined Rural/Metro is 2006 as the division's Human Resources Manager. Prior to his tenure with Rural/Metro, Bradley was Human Resources Director for Community Health Center of Buffalo. Prior to that, he was employed in Human Resources at Catholic Health System and Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled.
Rob Zachrich rejoined Rural/Metro in September 2011 as South Zone Vice President, leading all South Zone business endeavors. Prior to rejoining Rural/Metro, Zachrich served as Vice President for Human Resources and Risk Management at Associated Wholesale Grocers, the nation's second-largest grocery wholesale cooperative with more than 4,000 employees in nine divisions and eight states. Prior to that position, Zachrich was Area Director for Gentiva Health Services operations in South Carolina. Gentiva is the nation's leading provider of home health services. He also worked at VistaCare Inc., a national provider of hospice services, as Executive Director managing the company's operations in Indianapolis, Indiana. Zachrich spent 11 years working in Rural/Metro's New York and Eastern region operations from 1995-2006, including positions as Regional Human Resources Manager for New York and Florida and Division General Manager for the Western New York operations in Buffalo.Rural/Metro Corporation, Copyright 2012
